My First Translation in WordPress

After getting familiar with the platform, I finally started working on my first translation. At the beginning, I wasn’t completely sure how to approach it.

The first strings I encountered were related to status labels, and I found them a bit confusing. I wasn’t sure how they were supposed to be translated or if there was a specific way they needed to be written. Because of that, I hesitated a lot before choosing one to work on.

To get a better idea, I started looking at other existing translations. This helped me understand the style and made me feel more confident about what I was doing. In the end, I decided to start with a simpler string that only had two words, which felt more manageable for a first attempt.

When translating, I didn’t go for a completely literal translation. Instead, I tried to think about the context and used my own understanding of the language to make sure it sounded natural. This made me realize that translation is not just about converting words, but about conveying meaning correctly.

While working on this, I felt curious about the platform and all the options it offers for contributing. It was interesting to see how everything is structured and how each translation becomes part of a larger project.

After submitting my first translation, I started to understand a bit more about how the process works, including what happens after submitting a string and how contributions are reviewed.
